Oliverso
A bilingual children’s opera by Nur Slim
On April 4, 2024, Amity Trio premiered its most recent expedition—to space! This bilingual (Spanish/English) children’s opera is part of the Border Crossings album and marks a continuing collaboration with composer in residence, Nur Slim.
In Oliverso, embark on an epic journey through the galaxy along with a brave child, Olive, who dreams of finding a new home, where tolerance and respect are the fundamental pillars. Accompanied by loyal friends Loli the astronaut, Octavianpus, and Dr. Hey, Olive will face the challenges surrounding immigration, and the search for acceptance in a strange new place. Explore the fascinating history of the origins of the universe and the creation of the planets, and discover the obstacles we overcome while trying to understand each other amid the diversity of languages and customs in the universe.
